For auction is this beautiful pair of elegant stem goblets featuring handcrafted
925 sterling silver rose and vine
overlays. Made in Mexico. Circa 1950's. These goblets have a romantic history. They were a gift to a bride and groom who were married in 1952. Their names are lightly etched on the bases; Ralph and Annette.
They drank from these goblets every anniversary
and remained in love for 68 years until their passing, within months of each other. The glass inserts are different lengths as shown and the shorter stem is rough on the bottom. I don't think it was broken because if the glass had fallen over, the delicate top would have broken, not the thick stem. In any event, both glass inserts fit perfectly in their holders. 4 3/4" tall by 3 5/8" wide. Overall condition is excellent.
