Description
Maker: This elegant pair of small champagne glasses is by
England's Webb
Corbett.
The company began operation in 1897 and became part of Royal Doulton in 1969. The Webb Corbett brand became Royal Doulton Crystal in 1986.
Age
: The "Webb Corbett Made in England" demi-circle mark etched on the base of each of these glasses was in use between 1930 and 1960. The pattern suggests the earlier end of that range but that is not confirmed.
Design
: The glasses feature an elaborate etched pattern of intricate foliage and flowers.
Size
: They are 5 3/4 inches tall, 3 1/2 inches wide at the opening and 2 5/8 inches wide at the base. Together they weigh 11.2 ounces.
Condition
: The glasses are in overall excellent condition with no nicks, cracks, scratches, fogging, discoloration, stains, water marks or repairs. One has a small chip on the base - it's shown in the photo with the penny.
Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
