    Rock Sharpe History
The Rock Sharpe Crystal line appeared in many ads that were published in ladies magazines in the 1930s and 1940s. They actual company name was Cataract-Sharpe Mfg. Company and then later Sharpe Inc. Most people know it by simply Rock Sharpe or Libbey-Rock Sharpe. Sharpe did not actually produce its own glass to cut, but instead bought blanks from companies such as Libbey, Heisey, and Bryce Bros among others. They then added their own beautiful cut details and patterns to the glass. In 1947 the company was purchased by Libbey and from that time forward their cut glass appeared in catalogs under the Libbey name.
