Aunt Patty's Organic Coconut Oil is a non-hydrogenated cooking oil rich in lauric acid, an immune system supporting nutrient, and MCT's, medium chain triglycerides. The oil is pressed from Copra (dried coconut) and is RBD meaning it is refined, bleached and deodorized. Once the oil is separated from the fruit through a pressing process, it is then refined by filtering through natural clay (bleaching) and then further heated and filtered (deodorizing). No chemicals or solvents are used during this process. Unlike unrefined virgin coconut oil, RBD coconut oil doesn't retain the aroma and flavor of coconut. Excellent used as a replacement for butter or shortening in baked goods. With an average smoke point of 350 degrees F, it also works great as a frying and sauteing oil.
